IBM publishes a reference architecture for quantum-centric supercomputing
IBM published an open, composable reference architecture for connecting quantum processors with CPUs, GPUs, storage, networking, and high-performance-computing schedulers. The design builds on hybrid research workflows including a 300-atom protein simulation and active-space calculations using as many as 33 orbitals.
Why it matters: The practical quantum stack is converging on scheduled hybrid systems in which quantum processors are specialized resources inside conventional supercomputing environments.
