OpenSearch Serverless adds scale-to-zero collections for agents
AWS launched a new OpenSearch Serverless generation for full-text and vector collections. It can scale from zero to high request rates, creates resources in seconds, exposes minimum capacity of zero, and integrates with Vercel, Kiro and open Agent Skills.
Why it matters: Bursty agent retrieval workloads need search backends that can start quickly and avoid paying for peak capacity while idle.
