Microsoft redesigns Copilot around Home, Code and Autopilot
Microsoft introduced Home for combined chat, Cowork and live Office documents; Code for natural-language apps and workflows in a tenant-hosted managed runtime; and Autopilot, a persistent cloud agent with its own identity, memory, computer and workspace. Home and Code begin Frontier rollout in coming weeks, while Autopilot enters private preview at month-end.
Why it matters: Document editing, application building and persistent autonomous work now converge behind one enterprise identity and billing plane. Permissions, unattended execution, generated-code hosting and usage-based charges become linked governance boundaries.
