Box ships agent guardrails while previewing workflow and retrieval products
Box says classification-based agent access policies, MCP Guardrails and threshold alerts are generally available. At BoxWorks it also announced Box Architect, Context Retrieval, session audit trails, Box Mount and new threat and records controls with later or unspecified availability.
Why it matters: The shipped controls can constrain which content external agents read and which MCP write actions they perform, while the roadmap shows enterprise content platforms moving toward agent-built workflows and permission-aware retrieval.
