GitHub made its Slack and Microsoft Teams agent generally available for investigating bugs, creating issues, implementing changes and opening pull requests from a conversation. Teams adds a Canvas for reviewing plans, diffs and previews, and created issues and PRs now record the originating conversation and username.
Why it matters: Moving coding authority into chat reduces handoff friction but also places repository selection, identity, prompt context and approval inside another collaboration surface. Explicit attribution improves auditability without replacing repository controls or…
Salesforce AI Research described Launa-Omni, a model that maps speech and language into a shared latent space and uses an in-house text-to-speech component for two-way conversation. It was trained for Salesforce and Slack experiences, and Salesforce published evaluation results rather than a public API or model release.
Why it matters: The architecture targets the hard part of enterprise voice: combining low-latency conversation with instruction following and task accuracy, but availability remains a separate question from reported evaluation quality.
OpenAI launched shared ChatGPT Spaces and collaborative Pages, plus team tasks that can run on schedules or connected-app events, @ChatGPT access in Slack and Microsoft Teams, a meetings plugin and plan usage across 16 partner tools through Sign in with ChatGPT. Slides collaboration is planned for the coming weeks.
Why it matters: Shared knowledge, scheduled actions, meeting data, team chat and third-party usage allowances now cross several identity and retention boundaries.
The Admin plugin lets workspace administrators inspect adoption and credit use, manage members and groups, diagnose permissions, control model and feature access, adjust limits, and approve spending requests from ChatGPT Work or Codex. It also supports recurring request routing through Slack or Microsoft Teams while mapping actions to the administrator's existing role and permissions.
Why it matters: Enterprise AI administration is becoming an agent workflow with write access to identity, permissions, and spend. The useful design pattern is explicit: conversational intent maps to bounded tools, effective permissions, review for broader changes,…
Salesforce expanded Headless 360 across its major clouds so authorized agents can discover and invoke existing business capabilities through open standards while inheriting Salesforce identity, permissions, metadata, validation rules, workflows, governance, and business logic. The release includes Headless 360 and Data 360 MCP servers, generally available Slackbot MCP client access, more than 100 reusable Skills, a generally available Salesforce Multi-framework, and an open-beta Headless Experience Layer.
Why it matters: Enterprise agents often stall at application boundaries or recreate authorization and business rules in prompts and custom integrations. Exposing governed capabilities instead of raw endpoints can reduce duplicated logic, but it also makes MCP discovery,…
GitHub's consolidated Teams app can now receive issue notifications and let a user mention @GitHub to investigate, fix the bug and open a pull request from the conversation. Existing GitHub Notifications users can update in place, while the separate legacy GitHub app is scheduled to retire on 16 November.
Why it matters: The workflow collapses notification, repository selection and code generation into one chat surface. That shortens response time but makes Teams identity, selected repository, issue text, agent permissions and the final pull request one authorization chain.
Anthropic updated Claude Tag to use context across a Slack channel together with memory and standing instructions. Claude can now reply inline, start deeper work in a thread, route a message into existing work, or remain silent without requiring an @-mention.
Why it matters: Channel-aware proactive agents can connect related work that no single message exposes, but they also increase the importance of channel privacy, least-privilege tools, response boundaries, and false-positive monitoring.
OpenAI introduced Codex-powered workspace agents that teams can build, share, schedule, and use from ChatGPT or Slack for long-running workflows. The Business, Enterprise, Edu, and Teachers research preview includes connected tools, memory, approval policies, usage analytics, administrative controls, and Compliance API visibility.
Why it matters: Reusable team agents are becoming governed cloud workers with shared context, scheduled execution, and auditability rather than custom chatbots that stop after one conversation.
