What changed
Anthropic's 8 October platform release moved Admin API methods out of beta, expanded Compliance API chat coverage for Claude Enterprise, added line information to the Models API and previewed Dreams support for newer models. It also set Claude Sonnet 4.5 retirement for 30 November 2026.
Why it matters
Teams gain more stable administration and audit surfaces while facing a concrete model-migration deadline. Both changes affect compliance evidence, SDK compatibility and production behavior.
What to do
Inventory Sonnet 4.5 calls, canary Sonnet 5.5 before 30 November, update the Admin SDK or CLI, and verify least-privilege access plus visibility and deletion behavior in Compliance API exports.
Caveat
The release mixes general availability, enterprise beta, preview and deprecation states. First-party release notes do not prove complete compliance exports, and external model providers may use different retirement dates.
