Microsoft details synthetic enterprise environments for Copilot evaluation
Microsoft described an internal platform that generates full synthetic tenants with users, meetings, email, documents and time-evolving workflows, grounded in public O*NET, job-posting and SEC data. It also generates and validates industry-specific evaluation queries for pharmaceutical, capital-markets and software scenarios.
Why it matters: Realistic multi-document enterprise evaluations are hard to share when they contain customer data. Synthetic tenants offer a reproducible regression substrate, but Microsoft's fidelity, savings and safety results are internal vendor measurements.
