Oracle Database@Google Cloud remote MCP server reaches general availability

Google made the Oracle Database@Google Cloud remote MCP server generally available. It adds tools to create and manage Database Connections and to run SQL through database_connection_executesql, using the IAM-governed ExecuteSQL Data API and Secret Manager-backed credential resolution.

BigQuery generative AI functions add three Gemini models

Google added Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, 3.6 Flash and 3.7 Flash support to BigQuery generative AI functions, letting SQL workflows target those models without moving the orchestration outside BigQuery.

Why it matters: Data teams can change model capability, latency and cost inside existing SQL pipelines, but a model-ID change can also alter outputs, quotas and downstream schema assumptions without changing the surrounding query.
