Microsoft expands the Quantum Development Kit for chemistry and error correction
Microsoft expanded its open-source Quantum Development Kit with a chemistry toolkit covering classical preparation, circuit optimization, execution, and post-processing across simulators and quantum hardware. It also introduced error-correction modules, deeper Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot integration, and interoperability with Q#, OpenQASM, Qiskit, and Cirq.
Why it matters: Quantum development became more accessible through familiar Python and editor workflows while connecting near-term chemistry experiments to fault-tolerant error-correction research.
