OpenAI's Codex data shows agents spreading beyond developers
OpenAI reported that non-developer Codex users grew 137-fold among individuals and 189-fold in organizations since August 2025, while its heaviest internal users generated more than 60 agent-hours per day through parallel work.
Why it matters: Agent adoption is moving from coding into legal, recruiting, finance, analysis, and other knowledge work, with parallel agents changing the unit of work.
