Samsung affiliates commit $1 billion to Helix AI infrastructure
Samsung Electronics and five affiliates announced a combined $1 billion investment in KKR-created Helix Digital Infrastructure. Helix is intended to coordinate hyperscale data centers, power generation, transmission and distribution, and fiber, with KKR, Kuwait Investment Authority, NVIDIA and Vistra also named as founding investors.
Why it matters: The vehicle joins chips, construction, cooling, batteries, cloud operations, power and finance around AI capacity, but the announcement does not itself deliver compute.
