IBM and Together AI commit $240 million to a Blackwell inference cluster
IBM and Together AI signed a multi-year, $240 million agreement for a dedicated inference cluster on IBM Cloud using NVIDIA HGX B300 systems and Spectrum-X networking. The companies expect the first United States cluster in the first quarter of 2027; Reuters reports it will contain roughly 2,000 Blackwell 300 chips.
Why it matters: The agreement converts demand for open-model inference into a large dedicated deployment and gives IBM Cloud a new anchor tenant for NVIDIA's latest systems.
