Devin Fusion brings paired coding agents to Desktop and CLI

Cognition made Fusion available in Devin Desktop and CLI. A frontier lead model plans and reviews while a lower-cost sidekick explores, implements and tests in a separate persistent context; users select both models, with Cognition recommending Fable 5.1 plus SWE-2.

Why it matters: The release moves a two-agent coding harness from Devin Cloud onto local developer surfaces. Delegation can reduce frontier-model spend, but it creates two contexts, two tool users and a review handoff that must be evaluated as one system.

Cursor 3 rebuilds the IDE around fleets of local and cloud agents

Cursor introduced a new agent-centered workspace with multi-repository navigation, parallel local and cloud agents, handoff between those execution modes and a path back into the traditional IDE. Agents launched from desktop, web, mobile, Slack, GitHub and Linear appear in one interface, and cloud agents return demos and screenshots for review.

Why it matters: The developer interface is moving from one chat beside one repository to a control room for many asynchronous workers. Verification artifacts and handoff state become first-class UX, not afterthoughts.
