US bars new Chinese robots and connected power inverters
The FCC barred authorization of new Chinese humanoid and quadruped robot models and connected power inverters, citing surveillance, remote-control and critical-infrastructure risks. The measures took effect upon publication and apply to unreleased models; existing authorizations were not automatically revoked.
Why it matters: AI supply-chain controls now extend beyond chips and models into physical agents, sensors, firmware, remote updates and the power equipment serving data centers.
