Anthropic gives Claude Cowork a separate built-in browser
Anthropic added a browser inside the Claude desktop app so Cowork can navigate sites, read pages, click, type, and complete forms without the Claude in Chrome extension. The browser is separate from the user's own tabs, bookmarks, and passwords; selected logins can be imported, while banking, email, and single-sign-on sites are excluded unless the user chooses otherwise.
Why it matters: The release creates a lower-friction browser-agent path with a clearer separation from a person's daily browser, but it also expands the set of websites and external actions reachable from a long-running Cowork task.
