Anthropic launches cyber mission and free open-source vulnerability scanner
Anthropic launched a Cyber Mission spanning critical-infrastructure defense, threat intelligence and open-source security. Its opt-in OSS Scanner is free for eligible core maintainers and returns reproduced findings, explanations and candidate patches; a separate program is already working with 11 critical-infrastructure providers.
Why it matters: The programs put a frontier-model vendor directly into software and infrastructure defense while publishing unusually concrete validation counts for the scanner.
