EuroHPC signs the €387.8 million LUMI-AI supercomputer contract
EuroHPC signed Bull to acquire, deliver, install and maintain an AI-optimised supercomputer in Kajaani, Finland. The €387.8 million system is scheduled for user availability in 2027, will support the LUMI AI Factory, and is intended primarily for European startups and SMEs while remaining open to researchers.
Why it matters: This is a funded procurement milestone rather than a broad capacity promise. It expands Europe's subsidised AI-compute route and connects AI, HPC and a planned LUMI-IQ quantum system inside one public infrastructure programme.
