Anthropic publishes its production lessons for multi-agent research
Anthropic described Claude Research as an orchestrator-worker system in which a lead agent delegates parallel searches to specialized subagents and a citation agent grounds the final report. Its internal evaluation found an Opus 4 lead with Sonnet 4 workers outperformed a single Opus 4 agent by 90.2%.
Why it matters: The report supplies unusually concrete production guidance on delegation, tool design, tracing, checkpoints and when parallel agents are worth their extra cost.
