Transformers 5.17 adds models and centralizes vision RoPE
Hugging Face Transformers 5.17 added support for Hy4 Preview, VibeVoice, NeoMME retrieval, Fun-ASR-Nano, Kimi Linear and Canary 1B v2. It also centralizes two- and three-dimensional vision rotary embeddings, requiring custom integrations that used model-specific grid logic to migrate.
Why it matters: The release broadens text, speech and document-model coverage, but the vision RoPE breaking change can silently invalidate custom model code if teams treat a minor library upgrade as routine.
